Back after a 10 day Holiday @Home

Hello,

So, I was away for a 10 day long vacation @home,a break planned before I start a new journey at SCIT.

The temperatures were in the range of 45-49, and i spent all the 10 days at home reading books and watching TV. It was fun to just read/eat/sleep/relax. :)

Nothing on my mind to write more now.

Tomorrow I am off to Nashik.

Will update more later.

Sudoku!

Hi,

It has been around 2+ years since I have fallen in love with solving Sudoku, so thought of writing a post about it.

Sudoku as one knows stands for "Single Number". Here's the wiki link.

I first solved sudoku, when a friend of mine pointed to give it a try. So, I initially started solving the one which comes in Pune Times,which is a very easy one. Slowly I found myself in love with solving sudoku, and it became(and is still) a daily act. I became very much comfortable in solving easy sudokus.

During my stay in the US, my love for sudoku blossomed and it became a hobby. I then found a site strictlysudoku.com, which had a treasure of sudoku; easy,medium,hard and fiendish were the levels defined there. After solving each level, you could earn points and depending upon the points and a combination of number of Hard and Fiendish sudokus solves, players were grouped into certain levels.

I began solving the easy ones, then moved to the medium ones and then to the hard and the fiendish ones. I remember spending hours solving sudoku, at times even 5 fiendish sudokus back to back. Solving Sudokus is a pleasure for me.

Benefits of Solving Sudoku:

Increases your concentration
Increases your patience/tolerance
A good brain work out for your gray/white cells
Increases your defect finding skills
Teaches you to focus on the details
Gives one a evilish (lol) pleasure, esp when you solve the Fiendish one.
Will keep your thoughts alligned

Well, Sudoku will become your companion for lifetime and it will give you all the relaxation you need, as well as the pain(if you are sadistic) and pleasure for your brain and mind.

आज या कार्यक्रमाला गेलो होतो. खूप छान झाला.

अशोक आणि निवेदिता या दोघांनी ही दिल खुलास गप्पा मारल्या. सुधीर गाडगीळ आणि राजेश दामले यांनी प्रेक्षकांना, सराफ यांच्या आयुष्यातील अनेक माहित नसलेल्या गमती जमती बद्दल प्रश्न विचारून "गप्पा" रंगवल्या.

गप्पा या लिहणं फार अवघड असता, त्या फक्त आपल्या अंतर मनात शोषून घ्याच्या असतात, त्यामुळे इकडे फार काही लिहू शकत नाही.

आजचा दिवस या कार्यक्रमामुळे चांगलाच खुलला. धन्यवाद डीएसके.

कधी कधी अशा कार्यक्रमांना गेलं कि माणूस थोडा नेहमीच्या विचारातून बाहेर येतो आणि एका वेगळ्याच विश्वात जातो.

खंत मात्र एकच आहे अशोक सराफनि स्वाक्षरी देण्यास मात्र नकार दिला. :(

हेअडफोन शिवाय कुबिक्ल मधे कुणीच बोलत नाही.

तितक्यात कुठून एक बग डोळ्यासमोर येतो..

हेअडफोन चा आवाज कमी होतो...

रिलीज ब्लोक करता येईल ... असं मनात येतं...

आनंद उनाड मुला सारखा सैरा वैरा पळत राहतो...

लीड, कलीग'स शी बोलून पाहतो...

दुपार टळून संध्याकाळची होते कॉफी ची वेळ...

कॉफी मागून चालत येते client ची बेल...

चक्क client .... बग मान्य करतो...

Appeal for Kasab

Hello,

The hottest buzz in the country today is about what sentence will Kasab receive.

Thanks to the media, this news has masked the proceedings on IPL controvery which in turn masked the Naxalite Debate. Whoa! thats what they call "News Masking"

Anyways, what made me write about Kasab today is an article in today's TOI praising the judicial system for its impeccable proceedings of the world renowned case.

I second the article on the execution part when we compare with other cases such as Bofors/Fodder Scam, our courts have done a commendable job, given the intricacies and the sensitiveness of the case.

But why do we Indians take pride in such small things? I mean, isn't it the duty of any constitution to proceed a case against the people who declare war against the nation and its citizens?

I believe we could have expedited this case and made some exceptions or provisions in the law to give Kasab a "Fair Trial".

"Fair Trial" does he really deserve it? Does he even know the meaning of the word "Fair" ?

He demands fairness, when he himself had forgotten the meaning of the word on that macabre day.Our beloved country has always proven that it gives priority to the "Image of the country in the world" than to its citizens. I bet, all the "true" citizens of India would demand an immediate death sentence for Kasab. But that is not what our so called "chosen" rulers and the appointed diplomats have on their mind, they have added a Humanitarian aspect to this case and have spent massive time and money on "one" man.

Theres a quote "Kasab is the Safest Man in India, Safer than the Common Man"

How many housing schemes we could have built, with the money we spent on this case?

How many jobs we could have created out of such schemes?

Ujjwal Nikam's time could have been utilized on some grave issues facing the country today.

The massive police force we deployed for his security could have been released to fight naxalites or even the local nuisance, or simply we could have sent them on a leave for a month on a rotation basis letting those folks spend quality time with their loved ones.

This case is one the classic examples in the Indian Judiciary of over-protectiveness,over-judiciousness, over- fair trialness.

Lastly, I appeal as below:

Mr. Kasab, we know that India has the good-boy image in the world, but when it comes to our lives our history has a proven track record that we never let anyone conquer us. Whatever you and your team members have done on this sacred land is something which no citizen can forgive.

So kindly allow us to set you free from the burden of your sins and demolish the evil spirit in you.

We as citizens appeal you to accept the sentence our honorary court confers upon you and kindly relieve us from the burden we shoulder by keeping you in our sacred country.

May your soul rest in peace and may it never again come back on this Gorgeous and our Beloved "Mother Earth".

Mumbai is waiting for the Justice Day! May it receive the same.

Gearing up for Blogging. Again!

Hello,

Been a long time since I last posted. Well, no reasons to quote here and I apologize to the readers who use to come here previously or who have seriously subscribed this blog in their readers.

Since the time I last posted, life has been a roller coaster, filled with breath taking moments and moments forcing me to take breaths. Life in general has been a good mix of Heads and Tails, probably due to a combination of so many reasons I have never been able to figure out. Well it reminds me of Mohnish Pabrai's book Dhando where he frequently mentions "Heads I win, Tails I don't loose much".

My decision of quitting my well paying job to pursue MBA has just bloomed and is about to unfold in a months time from now.

There have been many more incidences in life which have had gloomy effects on my mental state.I am managing somehow to unmask the darkness and find the right way out of it.

I am now gearing up for a transition, which I believe will be a crucial phase in my life.

I plan this blog to be the outlet of anything which comes across me hence forth.

I need your wishes as I embark on this new journey and a period of transformation.

Sysinternals(aka Microsoft) yesterday released there "Zoom it" utility here.
Here is a short and an easy to read glossary of the utility.

1. Intro;
This utility can be used during presentations or to collect screen shots by zooming in on the area of you interest on your screen. this tool is really handy when it comes to presentations.
I would really give a yohoooo (Pirates style) for having this utility on the top ten presentation tools.

2. Using it:
- Just download it from here
- First time it runs you can configure all the options and it sits in the systray down there quietly.

Switch to the tool: Ctrl +1
Zoom in/out: Mouse Wheel/Up-Down Keys
Exit: Press ESC

You can draw and highlight the areas you need using this tool:
Switch to the drawing mode- Left Mouse Button
Undo- Ctrl +Z
Erase all Drawings: - e
Exit Drawing Mode - Right mouse button
Change the pen width - Left Ctrl +Mouse Wheel/Up-Down
Change Pen Color: r(red),g(green),p(pink) etc

You Can draw some shapes too:
Straight Line- Use Shift Key
Rectangle - Use Ctrl Key and Drag
Ellipse - Tab Key
Arrow - Shift +Ctrl

9 Tips to make a quick tiffin in the morning.

Hi,
I have always loved home cooked food at work and i have been trying hard to make tiffin and get it to work. I am satisified even with 3 Chapatis and a Small bowl of vegetable as a tiffin.
So here are some of my tips to make it quick:
1. Decide on the menu for your tiffin a day before( Plan it typically in the evenings, when you are cooking your dinner). Dont aspire for a great delicious menu. Think of some easy to make and healthy vegetables.
2. While buying the weekly grocery make sure you get "quick-cookable" vegetables like "Spinach/Potato/Tomato/Green Beans etc."
3. Once you zero down on a menu for your tiffin, collect the required vegetables/spices in a plate or bowl.
4. Wash/Peel/Cut/shred the vegetables when you are preparing dinner. Save this preparation in the Refrigerator.This will save a lot of time in the morning.
5. You may want to prepare chapatis the night before.
6. If you are using the frozen chapatis, it is a good idea to pull up the chapatis no sooner you wake up, this will bring the frozen chapatis to room temperature and will make it easy to heat them.
7. So once you are done with your morning chores, get into the kitchen quick put on the burner and start cooking since you have everything set! yay! You can cook the Vegetable and Chapatis at the same time, that will save a lot of time.
8. Once you are done cooking vegetables and Chapatis, just make sure you cool down the vegetable to room temeprature, easiest way to do this is to spread it in a big plate. ( Meanwhile you can collect your things like Wallet/Keys/Laptop etc)
9. Come back and Pack your "Fresh" Tiffin for a delightful and a Healthy Lunch!

Hi,
A day before i was just window shopping in a convenience store and i moved to the Toy Section.
There were many Toy Guns and there was a kid playing with some of them.
As i moved to the adjacent section where there were some big guns and the cupboard was locked and it required that the person buying those guns must be 18+ years in age.
So this lil kid comes (must be 8-9 years), and asked me to open the cupboard... obviously i did not and told him it was locked..
On this the lil kid exclaimed...." I need that gun and I wanna kill someone..."
I was simply Awestrucked with his quote.

Banana Bhaji (भजी )

Hi,
Now here i think i will start a new Category of posts: "Cooking"
I felt so today since i have gained significant experience [:P] in cooking.
So my first Recipe is Banana Bhaji(भजी)
Ingredients:
1. Raw Bananas
2. Daal Flour
3. Red Chilli Powder/Salt
4. Oil
Procedure:
1. Mix the Daal Flour and Water to form a thick paste like mixture. Add some Salt and Red Chilli Powder to the mixture.
2. Cut the Raw Bananas into long/short slices( as per your choice) and apply some little amount of Red Chilli Powder on the slices.
3. Pour enough( enough for the भजी to dip) oil in a pan and let the oil heat.
4. Now, take one slice and dip it in the thick mixture of the Daal and water. Let enough mixture stick to the slice. Now place this mixture dipped banana slice into the oil and let it fry till the colour turns faint brownish.
Thats it. You are all set now.
Serve the भजी with Tomato Ketchup or a Sauce if your choice.

Well,
This is some kind of weird Post Title, but thats how it happened today morning.
The day has been quite lazy like me..
the cloudy weather here in bellevue blended with my feelings today.
What a great way to start a sunday when the tea spills and i forget to add sugar to the tea... some random thoughts swinging in the mind space.. that was when i realised: This is one of a kind sunday.
I did not achieve any major thought today, but i pat myself for working on the commitment i gave myself few days back.
Besides sleeping for 3 rocking hours( haven't had this kinda sleep in awhile) i read a few articles on the net... uploaded some funny photos on orkut which triggered many comments on them... and as always here i am writing on this blog and deciding(as always) to post here much frequently.
Some questions which splashed my mind:
Why is it that being simple and crystal clear makes a man uncomfortable?
Why is it that how much ever you try, there will be always some %age of effect of the surroundings on you?
Why is it that people fight?
Why are cities in India so communally sensitive?
Why don't people understand each other?
well I meet many questions daily...it is not that i am looking for their answers.. but as they say it is always the journey which is more important than the destination, i believe in playing with them -keeping them somewhere in my mindspace and then pulling them out to see if i can loose the strings to find the answers.
In a way i would not call this "A Day", but these days i have realised some serious things about my life and about the world.
Every day is important.
Some days bring Smiles...
Some days bring Tears..
some days simply come and go..
like a comet passing by in the sky.

As far now.. it is time to sleep after reading Naipaul.
Btw: Did i tell you i am reading "The Suffrage of Elvira" by V.S.Naipaul.

Oh, the Places You'll Go

I know its been a long time since i Last Posted...

But this one comes at a moment which i would like to "log" it somewhere.. and this is "the" place.

Ok!

so somewhere online i came across this "Dr Seuss" Book titled as the Blog Post and heard that it was a book for children at mind/age and i then searched and came to know that Dr. Seuss is a Childrens Author and has written several books.

I dont exactly remember, but the next moment i was on Amazon and searching for this book and there it is today with me right now. :)

Abt the Book:

The book is full of Pictures and cartoons and is easy read.

Now i know some of you dont like those life inspiring books or self development crap things, but freinds this one is a diffrent and a must have in my list.( Well do i really have a Must have list of books?? Not here .. its somewhere in the mindspace.. ahh forget it; will update later)... so

This book depicts your day to day thoughts how ups and downs are integral part of everyones lives and how everyone is "waiting"/"searching"/"flying high"/"dumped" in their lives.

This book has really inspired me and to be optimistic always...

Will always be my companion in life!

So i suggest you guys also have a look at it.

Based on a true Story this movie depicts the character of Oskar Schindler who saves the life of around 1000+ jews during World War 2.
The movie is diamond cut directed by one and only Steven Spielberg and will make you cry at many scenes.

Disney World: The happiest Place on Earth.

been there and felt that.

Friends, believe me it really is...

Check the image on the Left, thats what you see when you enter the Disney theme Park: the birth place of the worlds most fascinating cartoon characters on the earth.

Take the First One Mickey Mouse or Goofy or Pluto or Alladin or Lion king and the list continues you meet all of them here.

as you enter the Park you see:

Main Street USA: This is a place for the last 50+ years where number of shops have come and gone and has been the street for shopping enthusiasts in Disney World. most shops here are Disney Brand and Some of them sell food items. But guys you will meet many cartoon characters if you are lucky.

The other Sections in here are:

Fantasay land,Frontier Land,Tomorrow Land,Adventure Land and Last but the most important Mickey's toon Town.

This Toon Town is where you will see the houses of most cartoon characters created by Walt Disney and Company.

The main attraction in here is obviously the Mickey and Minnie's house which will make you child again and the awesome furniture gives an insights to Walt's Creativity and Imagination Power.

Everything in this little world is so perfect and little that it will really make you think why do we need so many things to live.

Well, i met Mickey Donald Minnie Frozen Man and Goofy and Pluto here...

Some of the Thoughts which came to my mind are:

1. Walt says: "A Dream is a Wish your Heart Makes" how true is that guys... why don't we follow our heart and do what our heart wants. Walt did just what he wanted to do and see today his company is bringing smiles to so many faces, no wonder more than 500 Million people have visited this place in Los Angeles alone.(there are more disney worlds in Florida,China,japan and France)

2.Man has created so many beautiful things on this earth and disney is surely one of them. Show me one man who will not smile when he comes here in this little world and i will loose anything. Smile will be on your face at all times.

3. The employees here have a mssion in their life- To Bring smile on each face visiting Disney World.How simple is that. They just have to smile from the botton of their heart and that brings smile to each face visiting there.I was amazed by this simple technique of bringing smile.

4. Believe in yourself: This is what I felt when i was roaming on the streets of Disney World. If you believe in every act you do, one will be happy always.

So many things to learn from Mr. Disney.

Thank You Walt for creating this beautiful little world where people can just sit by and relax and get loads of smiles.

Thanks Life for giving me an opportunity to visit this.

As they say, Humans are greedy so am i-Life i need to go again to this World.

Dream trip Come true

Hi,
Last weekend from July 3 2008 to July 8 2008 i had been to Los Angeles to visit Universal Studios, Hollywood, Disney World, San Diego Sea World and Zoo, kodak theater.
An Awesome trip it was.
The most wonderful thing in the whole trip was obvisouly the Disney World.
I will have a seaprate post for Disney.
well in these 5 days i felt like i was really blessed to see all these beautiful spots.
some highlights:
1. Universal Studios: When one visits this world( believe me its a world) no one can think about the way movies are shot.I saw the sets of many Hollywood films here like Jaw,BackDraft,MammaMia etc.
People of hollywood are really rocking and they have developed this wonderful place which everyone must visit.
2. San Diego Sea World: This place will make you believe that animals are our friends and we can establish an awesome relationship with them. Here the institute has trained seals,dolphins,shark,whale to perform some awesome acts. The animals here perform all the acts in front of 100's of people and never let their trainers down.
3. Disney World: The happiest Place on the earth: Thats how Walt described it. Believe me friends, it is really the Happiest Place on the earth. Every employee working here is always smiling through out the day not because it is their work, but because Walt has given them a Mission in life to brings smiles on the faces of people coming there in this Disney World.I was awed by the smile on every employees face here and so were the people visiting here... May it be a 4 Year Old Guy or a 40 Year Old Man... Smile Smile and Happiness on every face.
You have to be there to feel the Disney Spirit .Separate Post Coming soon.

All is well that ends well...
The Trip was an awesome trip i ever had.

Hi,
While searching through the internal sites of Microsoft, I came across this really good link
Well, It is one of the good links one can read about Bill Gates stepping down from his day to day work here at Microsoft Redmond.
I personally respect Bill Gates a lot. and hence feel sad about he stepping down.
I wont speculate anything here, but this change is going to affect Microsoft, esp when it is facing a stiff competition in the internet industry from the search giant.
I personally feel that Microsoft has paved the way for software industry in this world, and Bill Gates was the torch bearer; let us see what time shows us in future for this industry.
Working for Microsoft for about 3 Months now from their Headquarters here at Redmond i have felt the legacy and the richness in their processes and the way people here are dedicated to work for the great softwares which they build.

Microsoft will definitely miss Bill(Billg) :)
Lets wish him best for his new venture of bringing smiles....

Mount St. Helens Trip

Hi,
One more trip in USA!! Yay... :)
This weekend i had been to Mt. St. Helens.. Yes an Active Volcano.
Though the eruption was not occurring when i went there, but while i was leaving and when i zoomed in with one of my friends cam I was able to see some fumes coming and the hardened red rock!!
That was awesome..

On my way to the Johnston Ridge Observatory( Nearest point to the Volcano) i was awed by the serene and the heavenly surroundings of the nearby areas.
I also saw lots of cracks and broken trees on my way, which were affected by the 1980 eruption of this volcano.
+
One can checkout the cracks which are so dominant that they will serve as warnings of nature to human beings.
+

such a serene environment and scenic beauty blended with the efforts of human beings in planting trees and constructing mind blowing roads connecting devilish creeks and valleys makes the journey pleasant and a memory to cherish for life.

If you are in America, you must see this Legendary Series: Family Guy!!
Its a cartoon series featuring a family: The Griffin Family.
All the characters in this film have their own characteristics and features and specialities-
All are unique in their own way.
They in a sarcastic and the special "Family" way depict and comment on most famous things in the world- Right from ----- to ------ ( I leave the blanks for you)
This series i am sure has to some extent made impressions on the minds of young american to cultivate Family Values in them.
Stewie: A young guy who charms the audience in his own special way is my fav character.

Yes from the USA-

I came here on 5th April 2008.
The trip was amazing...i came by the route: Mumbai-Seoul(South Korea)-Seattle(USA) :)
Things look pretty cool here lets see how things goes..
Last two weeks have been really busy:

One fine morning, as i get up from my bed to start a new day... i read about Dhoni earning x.y Mn$
Yuvi earning y,z Mn$...
there comes a thought... IPL-Indian Paisa League

Yes, thanks to the board and the millionaires/billionaires now onwards cricketers will earn money like never before..."na kabhi suna na kabhi dekha" kind...

I really feel bad about all this stuff-not because some third guy is earning money-but- in a developing country like ours, can "they" really afford to spend so much on just a game when they see people dying of hunger/burden of loans/lack of education etc etc...
I do not say that IPL(read the Original-Indian Premier League) is bad in India, it will definitely bring glory to the sport...
but- are there such bad days for the Indian Cricket that we need to start a league for it???
Even in absence of the league the game has a really good support and fan following.It's just that now some rich people are willing to capitalize on the popularity and earn money...
earning money is not a bad thing... everyone has a right to do so and i am not someone to comment on that, but folks- Just think what could "they" have done with even 1/3 of the amount they spent on buying players.
Eg:
If i am not making a mistake- every team owner was alloted around 5Mn$.
Lets say there are around 5 teams
Total=25Mn$

1/3 * 25Mn approx. = to 8Mn $

In this much sum of money-
1. The loans of all the Farmers could be payed back.
2. At least 10 villages can be adopted and a number of facilities can be provided - People would have given a zillion blessings to "them"
3. SO many number of schools - considering education as the biggest investment- can be constructed
4. They could have invested that money into some new ventures to create jobs for people.
5. They could have created a few hospitals in the villages where hospitals are not even heard of...
The list goes on...

I am no one to comment on how should they use their money.
I appreciate all those people who can spend so much on cricket and also spend some amount for the society(All of them do something or the other for the society)
Its just that i really feel uncomfortable- what message are these people spreading in the country.
Can India really digest this??
Are these players going to play for India even after playing against each other??
Will this generate a kind "satta" in the Country??
These are some of the questions which come to my mind often.
I really feel bad that we give importance to $ more than our own "Rupee".
Every amount was reported in $, why not Rupee.

What will happen now onwards on this front in India is a diffrent story all together...
But one thing is for sure...
This is going to burn the spirit of cricket in India...
GOne are the days, when people will crave to see the world cup and the one dayer's..
It will become a regular things for everyone...
Dont be surprised if you hear people saying...
"bas paisa kamane ke liye baithe hai yaar ye log..."

A short Tribute to - Baba Amte

Hi,

Just heard on the news channel Baba Amte passed Away.
thought i would mark this on a post.
I have had a chance to see his work closely..
During my college days, i had been to his "Shramdan Shibir" which is organized by "Anandvan"- The mother institute established by Baba( as he was lovingly called).
The people working their are either leprosy affected or are really poor, but baba's teachings and efforts have made them self-confident and proud.
Baba used to say "A man can live without his fingers, but not without his self-confidence"...
Today Anandvan is under a dark cloud, and everyone living there will definitely miss him...

the sheer dedication invested by baba to fill the lives of leprosy affected people, stands as a solid example for the people today.
Aged 94, baba always believed in his feelings, thoughts and always converted them into actions.
We really need to do a Self-Analysis...

This moment i just remember a line from the song "ashayen" from the movie "Iqbal" here they go...

"Kuch aisa karke dikha, khud khush ho jaye khuda"
Thats what baba did all his life...
As they say... earth has been deprived of a godly soul.

Action Packed- Hyderabad

Hi,

As Promised heres the post.

Hyderabad-The city of NIzams-as it is widely known is truly a nice blend of the ancient and modern cultures-places-people.

Now, why i refferred it as Action Packed:
I used all modes of tramsport available in the city, and was surprised to find that, people just drive in action...
Take the "AutoWallahs" : They will pull one leg underneath and tilt their posture a bit on the right/left and just drive in action, they will move their body as the Auto Moves.. and we passengers obviously have to move the same way...
Take the "Local Transport Bus" : They are the same.. just wont see the people on the road...
No Wonder to encourage such driving the government has provided them with such wide roads and really long one ways... with very less number of crossings.

call it Lucky or anything else, i never saw an accident even with such rash driving.

Anyways, it was real fun.
Take the biryanis, the dosas and the idlis and the most tasty "Sambhar" wonderful taste.

I have come across a few such people and became aware... so late

How to Copy Dump Files...?

Hi,

You must have observed, when any of your application crashes [ remember da "Dont Send" Message], geeks always look for some log/dump files in the %Local User%/Temp folder, but as soon as u click on "dont send", these files vanish... Must have amazed you about copying such files !!

Well, Windows has a built in solution for that tooo...
Just run ntbackup, while not clicking on the error dialog, and take a backup of the temp folder, and save it somewhere else.
Then restore this backup, to some other location and copy the files which you feel must have been logged due to crash.

Thats it.. done you are [:D]

Its been a long time since i last posted, things are moving pretty fast this month, as i always feel in December every year :D

with me being shifted to new project in my company, and tons of work plus additional responsibilities pulled by me are keeping me much busy, that i am logging on any of the messengers available in this web world, am i being too flaunty..?
ne ways one should be sometimes ..:D

at the life front: The story repeats with the characters being replaced by the problems my bike has given to me, SNAP, and loads of other worries keeping my mind on toes [ thoughts continuously popping up + remnants of the work arena enter in this part tooo... i try to keep these two files separate, but i dont why and how they are overlapped]

any ways, have some more thoughts on my mind.. and obviously some resolutions for the coming new year.

Start the countdown guys... new year is on the verge... donw with your party plans and bookings??

So friends what do we learn from previous post??

Theres a manunath somewhere deep within us... The thing is we have never allowed that innocent,caring,conscious, happy,content manjunath to appear at the surface.
Because we know if we allow him to come at the surface, we wont be able to achieve many things in life...
Friends, its important we let ourselves loose... just shed the strings of the mirage under which we are hiding ourselves... like a fearful kid hiding against his mother...
and come out as strong ,principled,disciplined and implementing individuals.
Manjunath's story comes as a lesson to us...
1. Be cautious
2. Be Content
3. Be simple.
4. Dont be Selfish
5. Nothings is Your
6. GIve some of your time for others.
7. Be happy

this gamut of 7 morals will defnitely help one achieve happiness in ones life and live life to the fullest.

There was/is a Manjunath...

Hi,

So as i had mentioned in my previous Post, heres the post on Manjunath.

In some small village in South India, Manjunath goes every morning to his farm. A few days back he went to his farm along with cattles and as a regular chore he released the cattle to graze around a railway track passing through his farm; that was when he observed a crack in the railway track.

He saw a train coming on the track,With no facility for calling to the nearest railway post manjunath without caring for his life started running in the direction of train and with his shirt waving in the air he shouted from the bottom of his throat and the driver annoyed and angry had to stop the train.
Then manjunath accompanied the driver and showed him the crack, it was then clear about manjunaths intention. Driver hugged him and thanked him for saving the lives of over 1600 people in the train.

The district authorities launched a small program to felicitate manjunath for his bravery and consciouness.

Needless to say, todays "news craving media(news channels)" missed this "Real and Important BReaking News" how can u guys??
oops... i made a mistake you dont broadcast such news, you just broadcast about some kid falling in pot hole and how army rescues it and its sequels...
you broadcast news about how ghosts trouble people in a village..
You broadcast news about a a cow delivering quads/trios...
But you cannot give footage to this happening story which would have encouraged so many people to do such "great" good things??

Neways, Manjunath has no complaint about all this.. he is happy with the wishes he got from around 1600+ people.
next day morning.. Manjunath is back again on his fields...

Manjunath, we are proud of u.
You saved the lives...

Have you seen the new Two Rupee Coin?? It displays a hand(of course a woman's Hand) with two fingers...
HOw much more simple can it be tell me friends?

We Indians, Brand ourselves as Simpleton, and this coin is a superb POC (Proof Of Concept) for this.
I really liked it, cause in a country with the economic boom on one side and more than 60% illiteracy this coin perfectly depicts the situation.
This coin i feel, is a perfect learning tool for kids, which can help them make curious about Money(I am saying "curious", pls dont get mad kids, Money is not the only thing in life...)
I don't feel, any country can make it more simple?

Hats off to RBI, for bringing this simple coin depicting our simple-hood/simpleton/simple-ness. [:)]

yes Computer Security day is celebrated every year on 30th November, it started in 1988.

How many of you did know that?? hardly a few i guess, well better answer my poll [:D]

Computer security is getting really crucial these days, especially due to the importance given to Information in Todays so called "Information Era".
Most of us think that, we really don't need to update our Machines/Systems, but friends its really crucial for us to do that.
Particularly people working in the IT/ITES industry, even in the Non-IT/ITES industry where computers are used as a secondary device(provided you are network connected) this is equally important.

For a lay Man who doesnt use computer at all, thinks that what is so crucial in a few electronic voltages which are represented as A's and B's to our eyes, but friends if it wouldn't have been for this Computer device, we wouldnt have progressed much.

Computer, is acting as a Fuel/Wheel/Body of a vehicle of our progress and life.So dont you feel we should service it?? [:D] (Hats off to my simile quotation... :P)

Today in order to celebrate it i have done the following things.
1. Updated all my Machines.
2. Changed my Passwords
3. Kept a status on Gtalk(to make people aware about it)

Thats it, This is my first CSD.

Procrastination tests your limit

Well, its been a long time since i last posted. Really wanted to post but couldn't because of my laziness and CAT thing ;)
neways, back again...

Was just going through my word list and came around this word PROCRASTINATION ( not that i wasn't knowing it but though...) and that blew some thoughts across the horizon of my mind.

1. We keep waiting for things- With the curtains of false hope on our minds.
2. We think things will happen "just like that"
3. I feel- sometimes though, Tommy Cooper's catchphrase of "Just like that" isn't correct.How can you expect things to come and happen just like that???
4. Somethings tend to defer from your expected timeline and then they will bother you just like a thorn.
5. Life is a circle with three non-collinear points in the same plane-Time,Things,and You with Your Mind/Your Soul as the center of this circle.
6. Time is never in your hands- its in the hands of the "two" metallic rods. You just have to wait for the right time- the time of the Universal Clock-of which you cannot see any hands.
7. Procrastination-Will always keep your mind on toes, your brain will ride the waves of thoughts.
8. IF one is unable to control his thought process, every thought will have a prominent outline of the things one is desperately waiting to occur.

Somewhere, SomeInstant, Somehow-Procrastination surrounds you. Just like an aircraft waiting to land.

Hi,

Its been a Long time, since i posted last here.
You know, Last week was Patch Tuesday and this time we had some important patches to deal with.
Working late nights, Network prob in the org, as usual frustration + fun were the highlights for the last week.

Anyways, all is well that ends well, that week is gone, this is the mid of the next week...

Well, Yesterday my Techrepublic directed me to a software called LogMeIN.
Its really simple,Just download and install the software on ur machine, and register ur email ID with them.
Then go to the site from any internet connected machine and log with the email and password and wow... u get to access ur machine from anywhere in the world :D

Not only this, but you can share your files and many more services..
but all this is available at some cost, you can access it for a limited period, but its worth paying.

Man people will never run out of Ideas in this World :D :)

Well, Its that time of our lives, when every Indian feels lucky for living in this year 2007, yes We are the World Champions of the "Neo" cricket, the T20 Cricket.

Tons of Congratulations to the Indian Cricket Team :)

Last over of the Match, Misbah-ul-Haq the Pakistani star of the Match on the strike, Joginder sharma the rising star on the International cricket Horizon; Pakistan was just 13 runs away from the most desired, bizarre and lustrous T20 World Cup.
First ball of the last over was a wide, which was followed by a Dot ball : 12 runs required from 5 Balls.
Misbah was determined to be the hero and win the cup, the next delivery of Joginder and whoaaa.. a Big Sixer!!!!....
Joginder tensed, pressure building up on the Indian Team, in the Pavilion , every Indian tensed, biting lips, Crossing the fingers, people praying...
Joginder set to bowl.. Joginder Bowls... Misbah greedy for the victory asap, tried a sweep uppppppppp in the air, heart beat of every spectator was now in the hands of that "ball" in the air.. India or Pakistan the arch rivals who wins....
and down the cameras move along with the ball... surprised to find Sresanth all set to Catch the ball... and and.. and..... "scream de India" .. Sresanth catch the ball, for a wicket of Misbah... and yessssssssssssssssssssss India was the "World Champion.............."...

India cheers like anything, every household screams from the bottom of their throats, sum lie on the floor and dance, crackers all in the sky, some eyes closed and hands folded praying god....

Back in the ground, the Team is hugging each other dancing in the ground screaming... jumping and doing all sorts of acts to express their joy, coz they were the undefeated, The T20 Champions of the World. :D

On the same ground Misbah was on his knees...feeling bad for his defeat.. after all they were soooooo close to the Cup , just 5 runs away, but as someone has rightly said "In Cricket, The Game is never lost untill the last ball is bowled", and so did it happen.

Back on the Indian soil, it was a pre-poned Diwali celebration, People coming out of their homes on the roads, screaming shouting dancing, riding the bikes and cars and cycles too with the Tricolor flying high, smiles on every Face, after all Indians had craved for this day for more than 2 decades...

Chak de India was on everyones lips... the feeling of being a proud Indian was in everybody's heart.
People celebrated by SMsing and calling their friends and relatives... youngsters getting on the road and celebrating till the midnight...

This was really an experience of lifetime... Thats the new India.

Guys , you really deserved it.
Hats off to the "New" Indian Cricket Team.. guys u simply Rocked.

Hi,
After a Week long holiday i am back to work and off course to the blogger. :)
The holiday went fine, and i had to compulsorily take rest.. why??
Well, guys when i was going home on 10th of September 2007 the bus which i commuting met with an accident.
It was a head-On Collision with a Truck(One of the disadvantages of not having dividers on our roads), both vehicles had major damages, and all the passengers had minor yet bleeding injuries on legs, nose and eyes.
Well i better not describe that thing here, just wanted to make a note in my "Life Log" :)
How have things been here?? tell me...

Get Colour Television for free..

Hi,

This morning,when i was surfing through the news paper, i came across a humorous and an embarrassing add, its an add for a tender issued by TN government, which is all set to issue free color TV sets to the people.
Now this is something, which is really bad... We Indians and the leaders whom "WE" elect are not even able to prioritize things.
When a majority of our population is not able to get even the basic things for living, these people are providing them with TV sets... this is pathetic and really it is.

Instead of providing them with real good education and living facilities, providing them with employment these leaders are giving them Tv sets, what for???
1. to sit at home and enjoy ( is our economy so good that we can feed all these people)
2. to gain votes??
3. to increase the knowledge of people??? ( thats a big question, how many people really watch educational programs on TV, gone are those old beautiful days of TV Education)

I don't understand why is this all required.
1.Is not having a TV there seer or not having 2 meals a day?
2. Why are the leaders veering the people to a wrong direction??
3. Is it the people's demand or the leaders dream???

Who is going to pay for this outlandish and bizarre luxury.. are the leaders, or we the common man, including the people who are going to gain from it

Its not the leader's mistake, its our mistake. We are addicted to it, that we give more importance to such life-less and "idiot" things more than the basic ones.
Why dont people protest this step??
Why is Parliament not protesting this issue?
Are all our minds so dead, that not even a single person is ready to protest this useless measure??

Guys, We really need to do a nice washing of our minds,souls,body,thoughts.. and every inlet to our body.

Hi,

Yesterday after a boring and a tiring googling for ism.dll (wonder.. what it is?? ;) )i opened a new tab, and recollected, that i havent checked ORKUT... i logged onto Orkut... and whoaaaaaaa.. what i see...

The orkuts world changed totally.. man now it looks something like this...see ->>>

I was surprised to see this new look, and happy too, u know these days many of my friends who use orkut were quoting that they dont like it these days.. may be this new look can bring them back.

Well, lets have a tour at the new look...
1. Scraps, Fans, etc have been given a very good prominent position and a short one too.
2. All corners have been rounded.
3. Friends, Mutual Friends, and communities look more prominent now.
4. The blue look is a bit faded, but looks cool.
5. Search filters don't crowd the page, now they come in a handy manner, after clicking on Filters.
6. ahh.. i forgot this beautiful thing... check the image ->>>

When you visit a profile under the person's pic u see a option as "more" and u get the options by hovering ur mouse. cool na???

wel.. thats it what i see now..

Hi,

Yesterday, i got a chance to laugh at myself :D
There are very few chances of laughing at yourself i feel, and one should seriously (oops.. wrong word.. truly i guess...) enjoy them.
So here the story goes (well not a big one though. ;))
Usually i sleep in the bus while going back home after my office :D,however i am aware when my stop comes.
Yesterday, i felt asleep truly and so deeply.. that i missed my stop and had to get down at some another stop... i was.. laughing like anything.. even my fellow commuters were laughing..

LOL.... (that made u laugh i guess)
Any ways.. thats for it now...

Hi,

Dont be amused with the title of the post ;) , i am not writing this post with "angry"temperament..

For the last one and half hour i have been trying to take "MultiLine"argument in Perl, but i am unable to do it, i did Google it.. but no answer :(.

This is the first time, that google has not helped me... such a big failure for google :D
Anyways, will ask someone in my company...
Nothing great at my end, just a bit tense with my CAT preparation.. the scores in the last MOCKCAT were disastrous.. and slipped the rocks below my feet..(LOL...)
Trying my best to study though, lets see..

I have been using "Twitter" to upload my activities, if u have observed the right corner of this blog.. its a cool service.
This Internet Revolution is gonna show us things we must have never dreamt off...
U should also use Twitter, and the best thing is, if u add the twitter agent on ur Gtalk, you just need to IM that add, and it will update it here on the blog.

I was just surfing around on Amit's Blog
where i found this excellent link on Screen Capturing, and a hell lot of tools to do that... here

Now anyone on this earth is just a few clicks away to teach anyone "how to use PC"
Next time your parents raise a query on connecting to Internet, you can create a movie and store it as a ready reckoner.
I used just one of the tool "Wink" and foudn it really useful.
No need of expensive flashes and adobes and series of jpegs... just create a movie guys..!

Surely use it and let me know..!!

It was a great show, we had a function in our company, on the occasion of independence day.
A function, which brought together the complete Pune Centre, special performances right from our HR executives, to managers and trainees.. outlandish performances i would say for s/w engineers who are much habituated to sit glued to their computers.

Yes, just 2 days more for celebrating our 60 years of independence.
Friends, how many of us know this fact, a sheer utterance of the word "independence" shivers my body...
The word itself contains:
1. The free and cool breeze of air
2. The free thoughts not knowing any bounds.
3. The Freedom of doing anything and everything within the limits of ethics and law.
and the list goes on...
Every time 15th August or 26th January arrives, a week before every where the wave of patriotism hits like a tsunami.. the credit off course goes to media, but why cant we feel patriotism round the year?

These 60 years, have been a learning and teaching experience for us.
We started off as a nation reeking sufferings, flames of partition our first and worst wound... trains filled with dead bodies, giving both the nations(India and Pakistan) tears.

Loosing our Father M.K. Gandhi, was a deep shock for the nation.
All the initial years, were full of wounds, sores for the nation and its people.
Slowly, we started recovering under the skilled leadership of Panditji, under his governance of 17 years, the nation took a kick start to the progress.
Since then barring a few moments, India has never looked back.

May it be the First Nuclear Test, the first Satellite, the first four wheeler, India has had its "Independence", in every field.
India has carved its way out of the worst of the situations and emerged as a leader in every field. Having a strong roots of democracy and the sheer desire to be free and get back the honor of "The Golden bird", India is striving hard since its formation.

Hats off to the People of India, the leaders of India and every living dream of the Indian, which has made India see this day today.
We should be proud today, about the domain in which we lead the world, our fellow Indians are Making it big (may it be for themselves) in the world, right from the CEO's and the BPO' operators to the Person carrying files in the government offices, everyone has helped India in uplifting her from a worned out child to a shining glowing and a bright Country.

A country:
The World Admires.
The World Adores.
The World Follows.
The World is afraid of its growth.
The knowledge leader in Democracy.
The World cares her opinion.
The World strives to make her the "Permanent UN" member.

Its been almost 20 days since my last post, don't know why, but didnt felt like posting anything.
Was thinking on what to post.
These days, went with as usual not much excitement, some of my friends have come on holiday to India,meeting them ( though only for few hours :) ) coz they all are busy wid their gf's u see !! ;)

Any ways, one of my friend
has left for the US, was a sad moment.. though.!
Some other things have happened:

1. I joined gym again
2. there was another appraisal meeting :D
3. I told my bro ;)
4. Friends getting Engaged this week :)

yesterday 24th july 2007 we all celebrated our first anniversary of our first job yippie...

it was great had lot of fun, met with many friends after a long time...
check out the cake above, a huge chocolate cake and everybody simply loved it..!
Then we went for dinner, well a 60ml vodka was ordered by mistake, i took a sip of it though..![:P]

Everyone will always remember this day, throughout the life.

One Year @ Job

Hi,

Today 24th July 2007, i complete one year of my first job in my life, i am so happy.

I always wonder, why i feel important about so many "FIRST" things..
First Job,
First Salary,
First Year completion.. and so on and so forth...!

Just don't remember, how this one year duration just flew off, i still remember my Engineering days, when we were just out of college and had gone for a short 3 day trip, just before joining my company.
This job has given me so many things, i always dreamt off...

Today evening, we all those who joined with me, are planning for a dinner and i hope it will be fun.

This day will not come in my life again, so just wanna enjoy it..!

Its a damn good day, i woke up early in the morning, came on bike for a change to the office.. and till now its been good.

well.. right now i cant write more..

Hi,

Fatalism: Attitude of "Whatever will be will be"

I always feel, there is something preternatural in this world, in this universe, somewhere in this whole.

Each one of us must have experienced something which is anomalous, abnormal somewhere in our life whatever your age may be, when we feel theres something beyond your control.

Though "fatalism" states that "nothing is in human being's control" i do believe that we as humans have "some" count in the overall decision making, or in deciding the events which occur in our lives or one can say in this world.

I would love to quote a incident, from my life many of you wont agree that this might be due to fatalism but i would love to quote it here.
Me and my friend had given two similar floppies to a guy to put some data. We both were were not knowing, which floppy belongs to whom. When the floppies were returned back, me and my friend were both confused which floppy belongs to whom, suddenly i got some intuition or gut feeling or whatever ABCPQRXYZ thing u wanna call it, and i started observing the floppies, and then i concluded that one was mine and the other belonged to my friend.
When we checked, we had found that i was correct .!!! [:)]

So thats fatalism,when you don't have anything in your hand, just let the things work as they want to.
I just google-ed around and got hell lot of links.

Another Patch Tuesday with not much excitement.. :(
For those of you who dont know what Patch Tuesday is... here is the link Patch Tuesday

Well, in brief, its the day when Microsoft releases New Updates/fixes/hot fixes whatever you wanna say for all its OS and Applications.
Basically they are fixes of the bugs/Vulnerabilities/exposures reported by MS or some General hackers who are ethical and report the vulnerabilities.

Since last 2-3 Months there have been not much serious Security Related Vulnerabilities with respect to my project and so i say that " No Excitement".

Every Patch Tuesday is like a Exam.. You have to be ready with all the apparatus.. all tools and setups.
MS always comes with some surprises..
I have observed, whenever MS Releases some new Product, it never releases some Serious Patches.. otherwise who will buy their product guys..! :)

I have seen a site( a friend pointe out to me..) which has the title as "Forget Sleeping, its patch Tuesday..." thats how MS makes people use them their products and also make them patch themselves..!!

But after all this, every day hell lot of vulnerabilities are exposed.. which MS never publishes and so they just go somewhere. May be some hacker be using it for hacking.!

This time my project supports only MS07-040,
this one is a bit simpler to test...
so its relax this Patch Tuesday with nice sleep..!! :)

What life is this?

Hi,
A thought came to mind early morning, when i woke up.
Our life is so much Dependant on "The Clock"....
i have to take a bus to reach my office, but i must land at the stop sharp at 8.20am, else the bus goes by.. !!
and so i have to leave my home sharp at 8.10am.. man its getting too numery..!!

Why have we made our lives miserable... WE. oops.. sorry.. i didnt make it miserable, the society made it so...!
you dont get money if you dont work,
you dont get to wear if you dont have money,
you dont get to eat if you dont have money,
you dont have any social existence if you dont have money...

Everything Converges to Money at the end...! [:)]
This is worse... why the hell that piece of a paper is ruling our lives..
why are we so much worried about it...
why cant just we.. live...
guys.. we should start living...

there is no fix destination this is a jounrey.. and we have to enjoy the journey rather than worrying about the station.!!

Today again the day went off with nothing creative.. by my day i mean the office hours.. coz excluding these hours.. i do try to make my day exciting :)

No work, man the project on which i am working sucks... i mean the project is too good... but the guys out there; i mean on the client side are not correct. I did some java scripting today... and played Table Tennis again..! :)
This is a good thing.. in the company, ppl can spend some time on play and get back to work.
okk.. today i have to do some 50 words for my CAT, and also do some DI.
now i will go home and start with that.

ahhh i forgot one thing... ok.. i wil write a new post for it..!!

Last saturday, i.e 7th of july 2007, i went for a camp, yes... BarCamp3 , In Persistant Campus @Pune, India.

For those of you who, dont know Barcamp heres the link for this one...BarCampPune3
BarCamp is an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment.

People who attend this, are required to participate actively in some form or the other in the camp. anyone can come up with their own presentations and give a seminar or a small talk on it.
This time there were many seminars on many topics varying from the techie technical discussions to a small talk on how to establish a company and cyber laws.
Barcamps unique feature of everyone participating, makes it a succcess.

I feel barcamp is a unique and a very good place for everyone.. right from a student to a enterprenuer looking for opportunites to investing his money.
its good for young and budding and aspiring people, who wish to start their own organizations, they can ask for some suggestions for their products, find out people in the same domain, communicate with investors.... and the list goes on...!!

i personally felt that, this is a great place wherein everyone should go and invest his time. after all u are not the only one who live in this world.
one must open eyes.. and see where people are heading tooo... how they work... and learn from them.

after all we are all here for learning.. right??

The Unseen Fear

N, a male from a small town of India, is all set to make his Engineering career in the Oxford of the east. Where he meets a female V, with whom N already has enough friendship.

N had already fallen in love and hurt his heart for Ms.V. Both of them meet daily, some where, sometimes in the famous coffee joints... other times just on the street side thelas. Every evening after his so called hectic Engineering routine, Mr. N is set to meet his would be girl friend, both of them would spend time knowing each other, with no idea that they would be very good lovers in the near future.

Days, Months, and year went by and one fine morning, Ms. V called in for Mr. N, and proposed the hero saying “I love You”.

For Mr. N, it was like dreams come true, couldn’t believe himself, what to say, he just exclaimed in the most simple manner..” This is what I have been trying to express you, for the past few months” and they hang up. (Off course with a promise to meet in the evening)

Then they met, and had some chat, and went back home with dreams in their eyes. Days and months and years passed by, Mr. N and Mr. V would fight some times on minor issues, sometimes, Ms. V would exclaim that she wanted to end up the relationship, Mr. N pursuing her to continue, quoting some fine incidents…perhaps moments they spent together; and then Ms. V would agree to the love of her life and then again happy days would come in their life.

As the life moved on, a day came, when Ms. V, 2 years younger than Mr. N, was all set to pursue her Medical career and then she flew off from the city.

Both the lovers felt sad, but encouraged themselves, that they would have to do this for their careers, Mr. N’s career was not on high as his love life was, he would get screwed from his parents for getting low grades and not getting an early placement. Mr. N appeared for several interviews and did not get selected, slowly he came to know about the reality of the life, coming out from his angel dreams.

Ms. V’s career was going fine, with getting an admission in a decent college, some where near Mr. N’s city.

All these happenings, the affair between Mr. N and Ms. V was not known to their parents. A day came when MR. N got an offer from a company, and both of them where very happy.

Now, since Mr. N was about to complete his education, the discussion were going on between them to tell their parents about their love, but both of them are afraid.

Both of them, have a gut feeling, a Unknown Fear, before telling at their homes.

N and V have hopes, dreams and ability to be a great couple, an example for others, a love marriage which would be definitely successful. The only hurdle in their path is their fear to tell at their homes. Both are sure, that none of their parents would never say no, but still none of them is ready to take the lead… what stops them from doing this? Whats in their mind? Many times they spent hours deciding about their number of children and how the home would be and fighting over who would cook the food, and their children would be what.. and hell lot of stuff…! J

But what about the action which is to betaken by both of them, a simple set of words to be spoken at their homes, in front of their parents.

May god give these two love birds the ability and the strength to speak at their homes.

May god relieve them from their “Unseen Fear”. !!!
